Johansson er fra Ekerö like utenfor Stockholm og har tjenestegjort i det svenske forsvaret siden august. Han har tre måneder igjen av verneplikten sin. Nå er han i Narvik og deltar på Nato-øvelsen Cold Response.
Han og rundt 1.500 andre svenske soldater og offiserer deltar her som en del av den finsk-svenske brigaden.
– Vi har gått rundt og snakket med en del soldater. Her om dagen ble jeg kjent med en norsk soldat, og kommunikasjonen mellom oss går fint – alle er veldig hyggelige. Vi er jo allierte på sett og vis, sier 19-åringen.
– Moralen her er bra, supplerer hans medsoldat, Gustav Fimmerstad, også 19 år gammel fra Stockholm-området.
Lover svensk støtte
Sverige og Finland er ikke en del av Nato-alliansen, men er likevel nære samarbeidspartnere. Skulle ett av de to landene bli utsatt for et angrep, vil dette ikke utløse Natos artikkel 5, som sier at angrep på ett Nato-land er å anse som et angrep på alle.

– Dette kan være å låne materiell og personell fra hverandre ved behov, gjennomføre felles anskaffelser, utveksle relevant informasjon og lignende, sier han.
Ukraina-krigen preger soldatene
Samtidig som de nordiske soldatene øver sammen på Nato-øvelsen i Nord-Norge, herjer krigen i Ukraina – et dystert bakteppe for en omfattende militærøvelse.
Den pågående krigen er et hyppig samtaleemne blant de unge soldatene.
– Vi har jo snakket en del om det som skjer i Ukraina, og det er klart at det påvirker oss. Men akkurat nå er vi jo her, man havner jo i en boble her i felten, man får litt skylapper, sier Johansson.
– Alt fokus havner på dette, og alt det som skjer der ute i den virkelige verden, det havner litt i bakgrunnen, sier han.
